Secret Menu

B-How

Jul 14, 2006, 10:36 AM
Is anyone familiar with the secret menu and internal audio settings? I was playin around with them tryin to make the mp3's louder and eliminate the ascending ringtone problem... but now the volume when I play videos is messed up(basically the lowest volume setting is set to high instead of mute).I borrowed my friends T809 and set each value back to normal, but its still doing it and I cant figure it out.

Any ideas? 😕

You can get to it by typing *#8999*8378#

Its a menu with alot of the internal settings of the phone that you can't access normally.
i.e. volume levels of ringtones, MP3's and the earpiece beyond what the "max" level is supposed to be.

- H/W Test
- Audio Settings

Be careful what you do in there cause I found that if you change a setting, it can mess other things up, even if you change the setting back to what it was before

Do these at your own risk 😳

One small mistake and your only choice will be to do a Master Reset and pray 😉

Type in *#8999*8378# to get into the menu. Note, when you key in 8378, they will appear as ---- on your screen...this is normal. No need to hit send or anything. Once you type the correct code, you're in!

Then go to Hardware test, then Audio

Here's the ONLY settings that I changed...

Normal:
RX PGA to 255 and the Level 5 volume to 150, and Level 4 volume to 120

Loud SPK Slider UP and Loud SPK Slider DN:
RX PGA to 255 and level 5 to 150, and Level 4 to 110

Loud SPK EXT
RX PGA to 255 and Level 5 to 100, and Level 4 to 64

Default values:

Normal:
Rx PGA - 92
Rx Vol 1 - 11
Rx Vol 2 - 22
Rx V...

Unfortunately not.

I've heard that if you flash your phone to the D820 the ascending is not as bad cause it's a lot quicker.
