Help! Broken Screen...
I just broke the screen on my T809. Is there anyway I can just get the top sliding portion replaced? The rest of the phone still works fine, some of the screen is still visible, but a large portion has a crack and is blacked out. I don't have insurance on it, and cant really afford a replacement. If there is not anything I can do about the t809, will tmobile be willing to sell me a replacement phone for not the full retail price and without having to resign my contract?

Well the only thing u can do is to add insurance. Then wat u do is you wait about a month after u add the insurance and the phone should be covered. The deducatable on the fone is 120 or something around there.
TM may provide you with a replacement but depends on your tenure if u havent been a tm custie for a long time dont count on it. If you do get a discount off the fone you will still have to extend the contract.
This process seems annoying but it probably the best way for you to go.

Well I have been a customer with tmobile since 1998, well voicstream back then. I have never had a broken phone before, so therefore I have never replaced it via insurance. 120 is still a little high, if i get the insurance and wait a month, will they replace it with a phone that costs less, even if it isnt as good of a phone?

Well since you probably have tenure (forgot the word that might be it or not) status they may give you a discount on a fone. But the down side is they will renew your contract.
With the insurance actually im not 100% sure. My guess would be yeah, but 120 for the 809 is cheap the retail is 300.
You can always stop by a TM store and ask them just dont give any of ur info about ur dmged fone (or account info either) just say its out of curiousity. So they cant memo your account and stop you from gettin insurance.

I think Samsung should be able to help. My slide broke and they are fixing it now. I first called T-Mobile but they said it would cost $100 for their tech team to even look at it. I basically told them to piss off. Call Samsung at 888-987-4357 and see if they can help you.
