There are a few things that I needed to do to get online with my PowerBook and t809. I'll pass them along. These are for Mac OS X 10.4.
Go to Ross Barkman's web site (http://www.taniwha.org.uk/) download his generic 3G modem scripts and follow the instructions for installing them on your Mac.
Open the Network preference panel and use the 'Show' popup menu to select Bluetooth. That will open your Bluetooth network configuration window. This is not the same as the Bluetooth preference panel!
Click the PPP tab and enter the following information:
Service Provider: T-Mobile
Account Name: Anonymous
Password: Anonymous
Telephone Number: wap.voicestream.com
Click PPP Options button at the bottom, uncheck everything and click OK.

This worked for me perfectly! Thank you very much for the help; I have been trying for hours and hours between customer service and the T-Mobile store to get this to work. I even called samsung, but they said that weren't allowed to give me instructions. Weird. Anyway, I followed your instructions, and connected to the internet in just minutes! Do you have any settings updates? You mention at the end of you post that you're still experimenting. Thanks

Is this only available for mac users or can PC users do as well?

do we need the data plan to use the phone as a modem?
