sync...syncxpress...active sync. What is this. I was folling around with the phone and started this program..what does it do?

I have already synced my phone with my outlook on my computer no problem (once i figured out to turn off my firewall) and I have set up a gmail pop2 account to go to my phone but it only checks every 15 min (or what ever you set it to) Is activsync some kind of push email, or push for contacts and appointments. If so do i need to set this up some how. I have a feeling i'm missing something big here and feel stupid..thanks for the help

Activesync is mainly to sync your Outlook to your phone. Also for file transfer

Wrong Activesync is crap its not realtime. Wirelesssync is real time using PUSH technology. It monitors your inbox, calendar, contacts, etc. The moment there is a change your phone gets the update immediately. If you make a change to the phone then Outlook gets updated ASAP.

Activesync must be user initiated or set on a certain interval.

Let's not get heated here. ActiveSync will sync all items but you can choose instead to go direct to an Exchange Server for messages, calendar, contacts, and tasks (new with WM5 and ActiveSync 4.1; tasks, that is.) That will happen wirelessly.

You can also go wireless to POP3 accounts, but that does not have an option to sync only when a message arrives, while Exchange gives you that capability.

You need to be tethered to sync files, notes, software, and a couple of other things.
