can a xv6700 be used on the sprint network

my brother gave me his xv6700 from verizon but im under sprint can i have it switched over to sprint with out any trouble?

From a Technical standpoint : YES IT IS DOABLE. Both carriers use the same phone

From a RED TAPE standpoint : NO. Both SPRINT and VZN use a billlng/provisioning system that recognizes each phone on their network by the ESN. So when you try to activate a phone, the system knows, the make, model by just typing in the Serial Number. SPRINT and VZN will NOT add a "third party" phone into their network.

I know its dumb - you would think you would be entitled to do that - but not possible. Sorry !
