Battery Life dying off dramatically!

I've had this phone for about 2 months now. It started off with full specs in terms of battery life: 4 hours use on the phone, with 8 days of standy time. I was amazed that I'd use this phone regularly and only need to charge it once or twice per week.

The last 2 weeks though, things changed. I had bought a 1GB miniSD, and installed TCPMP media player. Suddenly I couldn't get through a day without finding the device COMPLETELY dead. This is true if I don't make or receive a call, or use the thing at all(a few days of forgetting the phone at home)! So I "erased" the flash, which reset the entire flash ROM, deleted contacts, etc. I would presume this blows away the registry as well.

I haven't installed any new software yet, but...

My battery life has always been pretty bad since I got my PPC-6700. If I don't have my charger with me my battery usually dies in the middle of the day (and I charge it everynight).
So I had to get a car charger...

The interesting thing is that I used to have better battery life before I downloaded the software upgrade. I don't know if its coincidence... Does anyone knows if that could have affected it?

tks

Just last week, I was visiting family, and left my charger there. So this past week, I've been forced to use USB for charging.

The wierd thing, is that now the battery life is getting better. I haven't charged for 3 days now, and still have 50% battery. Go figure.

Haven't updated anything yet, though.

So you are saying that battery life is better with USB charger than normal charger?

I am having the smilar problem with my phone. My battery is dying during half day without using the bluetooth. I wonder what is going to happen when I will use the bluetooth.

I too lost substantial battery time on version 2.0 But I am not sure if that is the actual cause. My original phone bricked during the update. The new phone came with 2.0 and has much less battery time. (Same battery)

Others I know who have updated to 2.0 also note much worse battery performance. Something is draining the battery big time. Because I can have it on the charge, pick it up in the morning and then find it half dead by early afternoon.

That said, today I have made an interesting discovery. My phone has been at 20% now for a few hours. I have played over a dozen games of solotaire. My phone has not powered off yet. I had gotten the alert and dismissed it. This is making me wonder if the assessment of battery life is inacc...
