Is there a way to lock the keys so when it is in my pocket programs and keys do not get pressed and opened?

Start/Settings/Buttons/Lock

Very simple and in manual. Instead of wasting bandwidth on these kinds of questions, should just look it up in the manual.

That is when the device is off, and the manuel wasn't neccessary to easily find that option. I would like to have the device on and just lock the keys so that I do not activate any programs.

Easy, hit the power button to put the device in sleep mode. I guess I don't get it otherwise. The device goes into sleep mode relatively quick anyway. But if you're concerned about inadvertently activating a program when putting it into your pocket, while still on, just hit the power button and put it into sleep mode. For me at least, when it is "on", I want all buttons active.
