Has anyone heard more on a firmware update to the Faraday (aka Cingular 2125, etc.) to enable stereo audio over Bluetooth? Official, hack, anything?

Thanks. I found and installed it, but it requires .net 2.0 which takes a huge chuck in internal storage space. I don't want to take up that much internal space, so I won't be able to run Bluecast or any other software application that requires .net 2.0.

BTW, since Bluecast requires the "headset" profile, I presume it only streams mono audio to a BT headset. I was specifically looking for stereo audio to a stereo headset. Does Bluecast do that as well?

Hmm... can the .net 2.0 framework update be installed on a memory card? I thought it had to be in internal storage. I have tons of card space, but like keeping my internal clean. I noticed that you can't send MMS messages without at least 5MB of internal space free...

OK, I finally found it - a way to add the A2DP profile to the 2125!!!

I don't know of an easy way to post the required files, so please PM me or reply back to this thread with info on how to post files for public consumption.

Basically, you copy the two .cab files over to your phone (87kb total), run them, delete your previous headset profiles, reboot, and voila - you have A2DP capability! When you pair a stereo-capable BT headset, there's now an option for "Headset" and "Stereo music" profiles for that device.

I did this on my 2125 phone and a friend's 2125 without any issues. It took less than 2 minutes to apply the new profile and now I'm listening to streaming stereo over my Moto HT820 stereo headset.

Ask away if you have a...

Hi All,

Sorry for the delays in getting the file posted, but they were on my work PC and I can't post anything from behind that firewall.

Go to my iDisk share and download the zip file at:

http://idisk.mac.com/gadgett-Public »

Once you download and unzip the file, copy both parts to your phone (using ActiveSync, etc.), run both parts, delete any previously paired headsets, reboot, and then re-pair your new headset.

Good luck!

I installed the files, paired a stereo headset, was given two options.. hands free and stereo headset.. checked them both.

When I played a song using the media player, it didn't play through the BT headset (but through the standard ear piece).. anybody have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

well that is why you need a large storage card so that you can load all your other stuff to the card and not your phone memory
