Can someone please comment on the speakerphone?

How is the quality? Is it clear on the phone? Can people on the other end hear clearly? Is it easy to turn it on or off while on a call?

Currently using Treo 650 and while I like the interface, the quality is terrible.

Cingular doesn't mention speakerphone as a feature.

It's actually not bad.... much better than the MPx220's version. To activate or deactivate it, just press and hold the "talk" key when in a call. A speaker icon appears on the top line of the display to indicate when the speakerphone is activated.

I've actually carried on full conversations with this feature, but it's also nice to use when on "permahold" (tm) if your earbud isn't nearby 😉

Its of very good quality. It could stand to be a bit louder on the listening side, but I havent been told to speek up yet.

Coming from a SideKickII I'd say the the volume isn't nearly loud enough. My friend's old Nokia 3100 sounds better than this.

What's wierd is that I've had times where the speaker was loud enough to use outside and times where I'd have to be in a library to hear it clearly.

If you're going to use the speakerphone regularly, I'd try out the Nokia 6682 in addition to this phone (based on my experience with my friend's Nokia).

The previous replies address its ease of use and my experience of people on the other end of the call.
