That's a terrible name for a phone! Faraday? What does it do, interrupt all RF around it?

anyhow: nice specs except, why all the effort with no highspeed data: UMTS?

This isn't actually a new phone. It's been in Europe already under a different name. UMTS 850/1900 is a new thing and so is HSDPA.

It's HTC's code name.

We normally don't list internal code names, but we kind of have to with HTC. Each of their phone models are branded and named by dozens of other companies, each with a different name, so listing HTC's code-name is the only way to keep them all straight.
