why dont you just buy your kid a free phone , every carrier has some, and they will prob. do a lot more than this repulsive green thing. and if your worried about your kid misusing a cell phone, teach then there limits to it, or wait till they are more mature.

😁 A good selling point to this phone is the fact that it looks like Shrek. All of the kids will love that. Personally, I don't want my five-year olds having access to call whoever, whenever he wants. If he can just call his mom and I, that's great! It gives both he and us what we need, I think it's a great concept put out by LG and I hope it does really well. Maybe they'll even come out with more colors! 😎

I agree to this completely! My son would be happy to have a little green phone resembling Shrek instead of a plain silver-ish phone. Not to mention I think I would feel a lot better knowing my son had a way to call me if things went wrong, and the GPS installed would make me feel a lot better about letting him have a little more freedom wandering from home.

I agree, this is an outstanding idea. Yes, at first it seems ridiculous to consider kids carrying cell phones... but 10 years ago it seemed ridiculous for anyone but the mega-rich to carry cell phones.

Yeah.. but you also have people saying " A Toaster Oven at Wallmart is cheaper than the EASYBAKE Oven" why not but them a toaster over..

LOOKS AND SAFETY

Plus it looks a little more durable than the LG3100 would.. they tend to drop, sit, and spill things on cell phones.. if this protects against that and wrong number dialing..

then this is good to have.. especially if your kid is in daycare, preschool type thing..

why would a child in daycare or preschool need a cell phone again? If there was an emergency wouldn't one of the employees or teachers be the one to call you? Parents who buy this for their children seem, to me anyways, somewhat paranoid or irresponsible.

Are you a child? If so, you should seriously consider having your mother buy this for you, and your one dimensional and altogether too simple mind.

It is irresponsible to make sure your child is safe? And as far as the paranoid part...have you by any chance noticed how many children come up missing every single day across the United States? Call me paranoid all you want...but when it comes to children I there is NOTHING i wouldn't do to help provide their safety. The kids can't call crazy numbers, they can only call the numbers pre-programmed into the phone. I am not asking for EVERYONE to get their kids one of these phones, but for the parents that would like that extra safety feature I think it is a great idea. If a child is taken...and you are able to track where they are with the GPS feature...that is great. So I'm wondering where you think the irresponsible part comes in?

Did I say it was irresponsible to make sure your child is safe?? If I did please point out where. I said that it seems to me parents who would buy this for their children SEEM irresponsible just like saying a TV can act as a babysitter because it will entertain them is irresponsible. Why would your 5-8 year old child be away from you far enough or in a situation where youwere unable to talk to them?? If they're at school, a relatives house or daycare they have other means of communication with the child. If a child is kidnapped and has this phone with them I relly doubt the effectiveness this phone would have on finding the child. VZW or Sprint will not locate missing phones even with a handset that GPS enabled.
And futhermore you're strayi...

I manage a couple of stores in malls, I see kids that get lost on the other sides of clothes racks all the time. A little extra saftey and a little piece of mind for $10 per month will go a long way. Never mind that I would have a direct line to my 7 year old daughter(she lives with her mother, and they don't have cell phones. Her mom has gotten wierd lately about things like that, worried about brain cancer and all...and she wonders why we didn't get along 😛 ).

Well I cant fault you if the children can't call you because of wierd relatives, you might want to reconsider leaving the child in the care of such relatives however (your call, I dont know who you're talkin about). As far as brain cancer is concerned it is physically impossible to get brain cancer from cellphones. The radio wave emitted by cell phones are TOO LARGE to knock an elctron away from a brains cell, they just cant do it, unless youhave some sort of implant. In which case it's fair game. But for the untouched brain it is impossible for cell phones to harm you, it si more dangerous to stare at a microwave for 5 minutes thatn it is to use a cell phones for 5 years non-stop.

oh and by the way im not sure that kids getting lost on the other side of clothing racks would be reduced by a cell-phone. THink about it, you call the child and say"where are you?", I don't know mommy. you would have to follow the ring before you would find the child. like I said before let all the paranoia freaks buy this and think that its a wonderful thing, more power to ya, I just think its a waste of money. Next thing you know they'll sell GPS ankle bracelets for children. Discipline I think would solve the problem that they advertise the phones solves, but parents these days don't seem to know what that is.

They already sell GPS gear that is strapped to kids, and can't be removed without unlocking. 😉

I do agree that discipline would fix a lot of the problems out there, but what of the nutjobs and "Michael Jacksons" out there? Will disciplining your child fix them as well?

Anyone will tell you that on a battlefield, communication is key(I know from experience). If you think that parents are not at war against those that would seek to hurt children, think again. PArents need more communication with their kids today than they did 50 or even 10 years ago.

So, no, this phone will not eliminate the stupid stuff, but it is a step in the right direction in my opinion.

My daycare providers son is Autistic. He wanders out of the house and yard when the gate isn't locked. This could be a great feature for her 10 year old Autistic son. He is smart enough to use the phone and if he wore it around his neck, he would have it with him at all times.

Simple, then don't buy one.

Why do people want to restrict choice in America?

If you don't want, it's simple, don't buy it, just don't make out other people as crazy or paranoid because they don't share the same view.

If a kid having one of these is no skin off your back, why bother ranting about it.

Now, fat girls wearing low rider jeans, that hurts my eyes, so that should be banned.... 😉

I'm afraid the only way a child will figure this out is by making the mistake in the first place. Part of growing up.

9.99, thats it 9.99 to assure the saftey and security of your child, i hardle think that is asking too much. Regardless of whether the child is 5 or 10. Any parent knows that it is nearly impossible to know where your child is at all time, and in this day and age something like thise phone is a great tool to keep kids safe and out of harms way. Especially with the GPS feature, that means if your kid does need help, all they have to do is hit the emergency button, and they can bre located. And on the financial side of it, its safe for parents becuase they dont have to worry about thier minutes being jacked up. Like I said before I think this phone is a great idea, who cares, what it looks like too, its not meant to look cool, its meant to ...

It looks that way so no one will steel 🤣 it and it is easy to find being that color. Again its peace of mind not a fashion statement. I would buy this for my daughter there is way too much temptation being a child even if they are disciplined. You can't stop people from calling or texting your child.

You CAN block text messaging so they cant send or recieve text on their phone at all!! AND the Migo doesnt even have text messaging, so thats another added cost you wont have to worry about racking up...This phone is suprisingly programmable....parents can change the security on SO MANY of the things.....you can restrict incoming calls, you can restrict the hours of the ringer so you dont put you little one to bed and then someone wakes them up by dialing the wrong number....which I know happens at my house all too often. Overall this is a very agile lil phone that is good for ages 3-13 or even the elderly like mentioned earlier!!! SO USEFUL!! This may not be your teenagers ideal phone but it sure works for all the customers that I have who ...
