I just bought a tictalk and the service is also provided by Cingular.

I'll look in to this phone as it is CDMA a much more stable and robust technology than GSM.

I activated the tictalk and like the way it could be configured but the ringer is low and also the speaker not to say that calls are scratchy, garble, static and cut in/out due to poor Cingular network.

Don't take me wrong. I work for Cingular but in Los Angeles market the reception is sheety. Anyone could have full bars of signal and calls drop, dead air, and garble all time anywhere.

I'll be going to Verizon as soon as next year begins. I am tired of customers complaining of such network issues that I don't have a solution because the HLR (switch is down or goes dormant).

I believe that poor network is not to be blamed on the ATT network integration as way before the acquisition Cingular's ratings were always at the bottom of the list or one step before the bottom. I also believe that Cingular was rated low in customer satisfaction due to the billing system had bugs that now started to be clean and polish but for many months customers endured calling every month to have it resolve but wasn't.

The reason Cingular exist is because the marketing used to attract customers but also I know there are strong markets that have sweet coverage.

I apologize to all but I found a nitch to rant.
