Pls confirm max microSD for this phone

The A920 specs says that the microSD supported is up to 512 Megabytes. Does anyone here use a larger memory card than 512 and still be able to access the files beyond 512 megabytes?

I plan to port my number from Verizon to Sprint and I think I'll get this phone.

Thanks in advance.

alot of people are saying that the gig card works, which is fine, but officially, (if you ask sprint or samsung) only the 512 works.

I too am sporting a gig in mine without a problem. I don't know how often you update your phone but maybe try that. I honestly don't know. A gig works in mine though even after going through the pool.

If you ordered this phone (MM-A920) you might want to steer away from miniSD cards since you'd have a tough time cramming that thing into a microSD slot. I have yet to see a 2GB microSD card though. I've been looking but I haven't seen any. Maybe I'm full of crap. I have been before.

Apparently a firmware update made the phone compatible with 1GB MicroSD cards. Sop if yours isnt working, ten take it in for a firware update.
Unfortunately, the phone has been discontinued and Sprint says they really dont care about old phones other than PDA's by not releaseing any new firmware upgrades for them. My old A620 hasnt had a firware update in over two years.

I bought the new 2GB microSD card from a Verizon store a few days ago for $100.00

Works great. The phone recognizes all 2000 megabytes!

Sweet. That is good to hear. I was just browsing around the Sandisk site to see if that had come out yet and now that it has I was wondering if someone else had tried it. Excellent to hear. Now I'll have 3 GB to play with when you add the 1 GB card I already have!!

Well after some more time with this card, something seems amiss.

The phone seems to recognize the free space, reporting total card size, etc.

However, the phone doesn't seem to play all of the MP3 files on the card. After deleting starting from the first mp3 that would not play, I am left with 1GB of files.

It seems that the last 1GB is unplayable. The funny thing is that all the file names from ALL of the files, even the unplayable ones, display OK. The phone even reports bit rate, and other info for every file.

Very disappointing.

You got served buddy if you dropped a C Note for one because eBay has them being sold for around $55 and the sellers are reputable with high positive ratings.
