Voice Dictation & Ringer IDs: Owners of this phone - please reply!

Hey everyone! I have a couple questions on this phone. First, there's no mention on this site whether this phone has "Ringer IDs"....I find it hard to believe that it doesn't but, could someone confirm that for me? Also, this site mentions that this phone has "voice dictation" which, I assume is the same as "message dictation". However, the Sprint site doesn't mention this. So, I just want to confirm whether or not this phone has voice dictation. And, if it does have this feature - I'd like to know how well it works. Any info you guys can share with me would be appreciated! I walked away from Samsung's a few years ago, and this is the first time I've reconsidered! Thanx! 😎

By Ringer ID I assume you are talking about the ability to assign specific ringers to contacts, if so then yes it can. The phone has speech to text capability which works pretty well once you train the phone to your voice. Just don't try it in an area with a lot of background noise.

Mike - How and where did you find this text dicataton feature? Have explored all menus and searched the manual, to no avail. Have you actually done it on this model and, if so, how? Thanks.

From the setting menu item 4 - Voice Service. đŸ˜ŗ There are many options don't mess with them right away 😕 , I was able to leave them at default values and it works very well 😁 . Great with a Bluetooth headset, you can leave the phone in your pocket and place calls to ANYONE in your contact lists 😲 it does a lookup by converting your speach to the TEXT in the lists. No need to record each name. You may find a name or two that will work better speled as they sound đŸ¤Ŗ you can also assign a "nickname" to a contact and then use that or the name to access. It is in the book đŸ˜ŗ and if you have a heavy accent you can adjust for it, it would make it VERY hard for another person to use the feature though 😕 . The hardest thing is remembering...

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have already played with this section of the VC menus. I was hoping you were talking about its capability for full dictation of the actual text message copy itself (rather than pounding it out on the mini keys), as some other multimedia phones have that voice/text capability. This phone only seems to recognize voice activated commands rather than full dictation per se. Or am I missing something?

☚ī¸ Nope. Checked the Samsung site and the manual for the umpteenth time. It can learn digits and do voice commands. Think I also read in some prelim. sales info that it did dictation but sometimes those specs are wrong, especially when they're compiled prior to a product actually coming to market. Thanks again for your interest and assistance.

Just searched forum on Sprintusers site and the definitive collective user answer was "No." Supposedly it was originally and erroneously reported that it could do that on this PhoneScoop site. Hence the origin of the myth... 🙄
