Mail does not Sync

I noticed the last couple days my phone was not downloading my email. I had email on the server but it was not downloading. I would try to sync it manualy by hitting the "sent/receive" button and it would connect see 18 email messages then disconnect.

I sent a test message from 8125 then it downloaded the 18 messages waiting. I reset the 8125 and now it is downloading again.

I cant trust though. When I am on the road how do I know there is not email on the server?

Anybody has had the same problem?

Please let me know of any solutions.

thnks

Are you using Exchange through work? If so, perhaps you have Outlook Web Access so that you can check your mail through your web browser. I tried an Exchange hosting service (4smartphone.net) and one of the features was Outlook Web Access that I could browse to on Pocket IE.

Well I can always check it through the web. But my point is if it show now new messages, I can't trust it because I don't know really is nothing or just acting up.

Are you syncing though an Exchange Server at work or do you use an Exchange hosting service?

Even though I have my own home Exchange server, I still told ActiveSync to sync through my PC, not directly with Exchange. When I do it this way, my mail comes across just fine. It always starts up Outlook on my desktop as a background process (if it's not already open, which it usually is on my PC) and then syncs everything I have told it to.

I limit the folders, mail age, and attachment size very carefully since the 8125 does not have a ton of internal memory. Other than that, it works fine for me. Try syncing just with your PC instead of directly with Exchange. You may lose a little flexibility but may gain stability.

I have not taken the time to research it yet, but I think there are some patches and/or updates that need to be app...

Thank for the input. The issue is that it not my server rather the corporation's so I can't do much about it. But I have the same propblem with Google mail. For me to get the mail from PC is no value. I need to receive the email while on the road without the connection to the PC.

Good insight though.

I tried out an Exchange hosting service and never had any problems syncing. It sound like something you could have a system administrator at work look at - it may have to do with their settings.

When I used the hosting service, I set it up so that I could have my Gmail account synced and it worked great. Other than looking at something on your work's Exchange server, I'm not sure.

So are you saying you cannot even receive POP3 email? I know I have my Yahoo! POP3 mail working (that's with the MailPlus feature, not with the standard Free Yahoo! mailbox) both for sending and receiving and my hotmail account works the same way.

Or are you referring to something like Blackberry's Push email model? If so, you'll have to wait for the Messaging and Security Feature Pack to get that to work.
