Cingular Customer Service BLOWS...

😈

Was on the phone today for 2 hours getting bounced from group to group to group in a vein attempt to purchase an 8125 as a replacement phone for my existing account.

Nobody I spoke to knew ANYTHING about this phone, they keep telling me to just buy it from the website, which is not what I want to do.

I do not want a new account, just a new phone; which I'm HAPPY to pay the full price of $449.00 for.

People on this forum claim to have purchased the phone for their existing account, HOW did you did it? You can't all be members of the Premier website.

VERY Frustrating.

I agree I was told I can "upgrade in August" unless I wanted to pay $789.99!!!!!! That is what the rep told me $789.99!!!!!!! I could cancel my contract and get this phone from Verizon and still make out. Is this guy an idiot or is Cingualr just a mess! 😡

i am NOT impressed since the old Cingular east coast system before the merger. The customer service when i traveled west a couple of years ago sucked! They couldnt even pull up my account to help me when I was out there. Now Cingular customer service nationwide is becoming just as rude and impersonal, you have to pay a $2 fee if you want to speak with a human while paying your bill, even in a cingular company store! Chances are you got someone who was pulling numbers outta their rear end. Call the sales number directly (I forgot the #) I have been with Cingular 9 years now (counting my time with bellsouth mobility dcs) and i wish Cingular would revert to the better service.

hey, the 8125 was first release in cingular through the premier site, which is a site for corporations that have a discount with cingular. now its available on the regular website at a very good price i might say. 299.99 after a 50.00 rebate on a 2yr contract. if you call regular sales dept, as of 2-14-06, we dont have the 8125 in our sales channel yet. meaning, we cant sell it over the phone. you can only purchase it as a new line on 2yr contract or renew your old contract for another 2yrs. im sure regular sales will have it soon. fyi cingy cust svc will get notably better soon.

hey archie...

different parts of the country use different billing systems. Thats the reason they weren't able to pull you up. Next time just ask for a CARE billing system representative. That'll get the person you need to help you.(they are slowly converting all customers to a standard billing system, but it is still a while off)

Corporate stores only charge 2.00 for bill payment if they have a payment station. Even still, not all stores charge this 2.00, even if they do have a payment station in that store (my store being one that doesn't charge, even though we have the p.s.)

The phone will be released in corporate stores on the 20th depending on your location, hopefully you'll have better luck there.

I am buying this phone...

There is some confusion here (at Cingular) as to what the "no-contract, full retail" price is. 789.00 is supposed to be what you can get the phone for unlocked, but Cingular.com shows a "retail before discount" price of 349.99! BMG (premier/b2b/etc.) pricing is less than that at one year, but with no commitment, the pricing is $404.00. If the people you spoke to sounded confused, don't be surprised.

There's also a Branding issue: HTC sells this as a "Cingular" Branded phone, and a lot of the reps who get asked about this phone say "Cingular doesn't MAKE phones..."

If you're looking to order it, email me - I'll see what I can do. I'm not even going to begin to apologize for some of the morons at the company I work for, but if I can...

😳

Ditto to everything mentioned. I spent over an hour on the phone last Saturday afternoon trying to iron out how to return my 2125 for the 8125.

(As to be expected, the first 5 people that I spoke to had no idea what the 8125 was. One person actually posed to me, "Is that the Motorola SLVR?")

After I finally got to speak with someone at the appropriate "Point of sale" or whatever, he was in such a rush to get me off the phone that I demanded to speak with a manager. I eventually had to go through the whole process of making sure that everything would be copacetic. Didn't want to receive the phone and then find out that I'd have to call them back to iron stuff out again.

Impossible....

We have had calls since Dec regarding this device. No one in the sales channels can provision this device, B2B, consumer you name it at this point. We do not know the exact date of release, primarly due to the fact that as soon as we get it I am sure it will be gone because demand is so high. When it comes out I am sure myself or someone will post it on here...so if you don't want to get the same run around please do not call until then.

We were suppose to have this device for business back in Dec which never happend. I have Verizon (5 lines) personally and I get the same crap from them. I am not saying Cingular is at fault but this device has been back and forth with us for some time now with no answers to anything specific...this goes...

I work for Radio Shack, and I can tell you that we will be getting it in "specialty handset stores" within a month or so, and it should also be available for order either in the store or on radioshack.com in the near future.
