Ringtone problems

If i download ringtones from 3rd party sites or use audio from walmart an use it as a ringtone the audio doesnt come up(for call or text) instead the 'NOTIFY' ringtone/sound clip is used in it its placed. i was just wondering if this can be fixed somehow? What should i do?

Apple will not let you use any itunes songs as ringtones its strictly for entertainment. Plus if you put an mp3 file on your phone you will eat up all of the memory. Keep in mind that the itunes music is on the transflash and not the phone. In order for the phone to recognize an mp3 as a ringtone, it must be on the phones memory. Here is the solution:
If you are using a Mac computer here is how you create ringtones at no cost!
1. Go to this site: http://www.deepniner.net/mp3trimmer/
2. Download the program and install it on your computer.
3. Then drag the desired song you want from itunes onto the desktop. Make sure you convert it to a mp3 instead of AAC format if need be.

The software is awesome. It let's you edit MP3s, allowing you to do almost anything. I cut up MP3s, choose a section I want as a ringtone, and transfer to my phone. Seems to transfer to the correct area, too. Not the trans flash, but to the phone mem. OR it may have been my phone was set to store to phone mem. Just got the software and still getting accustomed.

Also, IMO, it seems to transfer MP3s, images, videos, alot faster than opening up the phone in a separate folder using explorer and dropping in media.
