😁

Good news folks, the people at www.pocketpctechs.com have released an upgrade to the ipaq 6500 series... this will boost you from 64MB to 128 MB! the cost right now is 169 bucks. I can also confirm that the 6515 recognized my 4GB Transcend SD Card! ALSO, have a Mini-SD WI-fi card from spectec coming, this also has been tested on the 6515 so apparently the mini-SD is also SDIO!

These upgrades more than make up for the minuscule weaknesses in the 6515... just thought I'd pass along some good news!

Wow, i figured someone besides myself would be excited about this! ppctechs also offer 1,2 or 3 year extended warranties on these machines when they do thisupgrade.

I notice both Cingular AND HP now list the 6515 as having 128 megs of RAM, apparently they've reacted to the issues. I wonder WHAT/IF there are any provisions for people who already have the 64 meg versions. I've already ordered the upgrade mentioned by Archie but may try to get an answer from Cingular (yeah, right) before I ship it to the guy Archie talks about. Jim

The 128MB is 64MB ROM 64MB RAM... same as it has been.... 55MB total user mem of which 12MB is iPAQ storage... there has been no 'upgrade'. PPCTechs did an awesome job for me.

actually there are models 6515 - 6515h (I think) The hardware is the same, the letter indicates the country/region where it is sold. In the US, it is the 6515a... The newest model is the Cingular that has the 1.12 firmware. I hope this helps.
