Why no Wi-Fi????

I'm so bummed this new phone doesn't have wi-fi. I'd buy it in a minute if it did. With my home wireless network, wi-fi at work, wi-fi in downtown areas (Seattle and burbs, not to mention coffee shops ), this would be the perfect device for my current needs.

Alas,

I am going to take a guess at this...

I am thinking that since it is EDGE capable, that they figured that would be good enough for wireless connectivity?

Also, with the bluetooth, and GPS, phone, adding wifi would drain the battery pretty fast.

You're probably right duckworth, thanks for the reply-post.

As a consumer I'd just prefer not to pay EDGE data rate fees for freebie wifi. And this seemed like a nicer package than the Siemens SX66.

Oh well, I'll just keep waiting for the perfect device.

Also remember with wi-fi you may not need there EDGE or they may have to disount it. Phone copmaies sell top the distributor ( Cingular, verizon) not the customers. So with Maxfi suppost to be rolled out this year, which is WAY faster they won't put wifi built in to the phone. Not until we deband it and the new Fuel Cell batteries come out. ~Drew
