Some people here are providing incorrect information the razr supports only bluetooth for headsets, not OBEX.

Crippled ?

Since last night, I have already prepared and sent (😎 ringers and (3) wallpapers to my phone thru' bluetooth MPT...... I even sent 1 full .mp3....

So, what exactly do you mean by crippled?

Question: Were you hired by Cingular or Sprint to do this ?....... cuz you waste a pretty fair amount of time here. For what?

flawless logic! Unless verizon actually wanted to benefit its early (read: holiday) customers by letting OBEX slide. If they admitted to it, they would get sued for their exclusivity with Get It Now. However, once it gets back to the comapny that this happened, Verizon just says, "hey, we were rushed, some things got through, but it's only on one phone. No biggie". to put things in perspective, Verizon is a multi-billion dollar company, they hire people for thousands of dollars a year to make sure slip up like this doesn't happen. do you really think they let a shippment of one of the hottest phones of the year pass inspection with OBEX unlocked unwillingly? Get it now won't leave verizon because they're both making a lot of money together,...

Seriously, I think you are completely avoiding the questions about Cingular, Alltel and other companies and if you work for them.....you are friggin annoying, and quite frankly just because of your posts alone I would NEVER go to another company now. We get it, you don't like VZW, you don't like this RAZR....why are you here? To annoy us all? If so, could you just go away. what if I say Please, because I will....anything to spare us your mindless drivel.

my guess is verizon advertises it as headset only to cover their ass if they disable some of the bluetooth profiles like dun in later software updates like they did to the 8100.

Dude... people have been talking about transfers between their laptop and the phone since the phone was released... I am sure the VZW page says that, I have seen it... but why are you telling us something that is public knowledge? I'm sure all of us who have done the transfer through bluetooth are very grateful for your vast knowledge you have passed onto us by reporting something THAT IS WRITTEN ON THE VERIZON PAGE, like no one has read that thing... Thanks again!

I just recently bought a v3c razor and I have not been able to receive transfers of mp3 ringtones, pictures, or videos through the bluetooth, but have been able to send them to other razors including a v3c that my friend has. My carrier is US cellular can anyone tell me why or how to fix this?

Use the product before you say anything bro. I uploaded mp3's and pictures many times. Don't believe everything a company tells you until you try it out yourself. Once you do that, then give a comment.

You can move files around with a computer, but not push files from phone to phone, like you can with a Cingular Motorola.

Verizon is not documenting the feature, but it works perfectly.

You can drag ringtones, movies and MP3 files right onto your phone without taking it out of your pocket.

Is this possibly an error that some razr came with this out of the factory and Verizon didn't catch it or do you think all the phones have it. Can you transfer picture files than too, if not you would have to use txt msg and that is what the stupid Verizon reps said yesterday in the store. If it has OBEX and all I would have bouught it now im pissed.

wnrussell: what format do your ringtones have to be? If not MP3, can you point me to a software pkg that can convert mp3 to whatever format for the Razr ringtones?

Thanks

Ring tones.... General Midi (polyphonic), iMelody (monophonic), MP3 files and Yamaha SMAF format .MMF files as ringers.

Try Mark Ventures Ring tone link from his resource site, and good luck.

I just purchased a RAZR V3C from Verizon, I am trying to get it to work with my Powerbook G4 running Tiger (OS X) using Bluetooth. I am finding that it recognizes the device, however it will not enable file transfer capabilities. I went to http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=7809 44 but that does not appear to work for Verizon. Has anyone been able to get their Verizon RAZR V3c to work with MAC OSX

OBEX is a protocol that enables Bluetooth profiles, so yes the Verizon phone supports OBEX.

File Transfer, Synchronization, and Object Push are profiles. None of the Motorolas for Verizon support all 3 of those profiles.

The original V710 only supported Synchronization. The V3c also has File Transfer, but neither has Object Push, so they are all crippled ...

Ok this guy is really just annoying... We have said we are doing it... THAT IS WHERE WE ARE GETTING OUR INFORMATION FROM.. Troll... He also asked what files we would need to send to a phone... Me thinks he is a 9 year old kid who really doesn't know anything about phones or technology... maybe he's Amish? Nah... he wouldn't have a computer... hmmmm any ideas?
