Moto H500 Bluetooth Headset.

I had the scala 500 headset and was not completely satisfied with it and purchased the H500. I really liked it, small, fit my ear very well, and had good sound. Called Moto to find out how to transfer call from the headset to the phone, which is not explained in the documentation. I was told that the H500 is not completely compatable with the Verizon CDMA Moto Razr V3c. News to me! They said that I would eventually have problems if I kept using it. I have not checked online so I don't know if this has already been reported. They are replacing it, for free, with the HS850 headset. This headset costs more, but has the boom mike on it, which I don't know if I will like, but I am going to give it a try. I could send the H500 back to Ama...

Oh man, thank you. I've been very interested in getting a BT headset. I know people with V3c that use either the 500 or 850, and they say it works great. But yet again, they are not as anal about their tech as I am. Please keep me posted on your experience with 850.

I have the HS850 with the v3c...and mine works great. The funny thing about the HS850 is that some of them seem to have a volume problem, and others dont?

If you read reviews about this piece, half of the people say they are great, the other half say the volume is unacceptable and its unusable.

The first one I bought I experienced the low volume problem. Even maxed out it was so quiet I couldnt hear if I was in the car, with the windows up and the music off!!! It sucked! I returned it to the ebay store I purchased it from and said that the volume was horrible (in a kinder way than that).

It turns out they said all their pieces sounded like that and they were sending them back to motorola for a new shipment (because they agreed t...

The only Moto HS headset that has decent volume is the HS810. Ive tried every single variant of the HS and none of them even compare to the 810. Check the forums and newsgroups, this is an identified issue and every agrees.

My friend has a HS810 and his volume was louder than my HS850 so I sent it back and told them about this issue. They ended up getting a new shipment of HS850s and when they sent me a new one it was nice and loud.

Now my HS850 sounds like his HS810. Im still looking to test out the H700 but it hasnt been getting that good of reviews

I really liked the H700. I ordered mine from Amazon.com and was pleasantly surprised that I got the all-silver color. Unfortunately, I got static when I walked away from the phone only 2-3 feet. It was also hard to use the V3c's voice recognition. I'd sometimes have to hit the button on the headset a couple of times to just bring it up.

I returned the H700 and went back to the 850. I'd still like to give the H700 another shot though but am just a little gunshy with all the bad reviews I've read, and my own personal negative experience.

I've been using the H500 with a v710 and no problems. However, next week I am getting the V3C are you guys telling me I am going to have a problem?

I just got the H700 last night, so far the few people ive talked to said I sound totally fine - and my end has been nothing but crystal clear. It also fits (well me anyways) me better than the jabra bt800, moto HS850 and the moto h3 razr.

so far Im SOO happy with it, but its gotten so many poor reviews - Im just waiting for something to happen.

I will keep you guys posted and write a full review about all the bluetooth pieces ive had

Thanks Greyboy. Please let me know what you think about the H700. I just got another one today. Thought I'd give it another shot. My first impressions are I hear static when the phone and headset are on the opposite side of my body. I hear this when I even hold the phone. I'll give it a full test over the weekend.

Well, I returned my H700 today. It was my second one. I heard less static on this one the further I walked away, but, people on the other end had trouble hearing me! Of course, it got clearer when I had the phone next to me. But even with the phone a mere arm's length away gave people on the other end problems understanding me.

It's too bad because I love the size of this headset and it fits me better than the HS850. Oh well, I'll just stick with the 850. It seems to be Motorola's workhorse headset.

sorry to hear you had bad experiences with the headset - those are the kind of reviews that scared me away from the H700.

It seems like the units themselves differ or something, I cant understand because mine is crystal clear and blows away my other bluetooth experiences. I guess Im just lucky to have this particular one.

Anyways, I wrote up a full final review on the motorola message board about all the pieces Ive owned and rated them with pros/cons.

Enjoy!

Thanks for posting the review Greyboy. All of your posts are always informative. I believe you are correct that the H700 headsets are of varying quality. I read posts where people bought and returned up to three of them before finding one that works without any problems.

I returned my second one yesterday and will stick with my HS850. It's a workhorse headset and sounds great in my ear. But I agree with you on the floppyness and loose fit. I took the rubber shroud off (around the earpiece) and it didn't really help.

Knowing me, I'll probably get the urge to try yet another H700 or something different very soon! 🙄 Take care.

That's really odd that you would be told that. The H500 most definately IS compatible with the Razr V3c and IMO much better than the HS850 (mostly due to fit). They probably said it wasn't completely compatible because they didn't know the answer to your question, which is.....To transfer your call from your headset to your phone during your conversation, open your phone, hit options (bottom right of screen), scroll to "switch call to phone", hit OK and that's it. You can do the same thing to go back to the headset then if you want.
