Price Drop... So Soon? Unfair.

To all of those early adoptors of Verizion's Razr... Isn't anyone upset that Verizon's current promo is Buy 1 Razr for $100 get a second for free? I feel that this is completely unfair. Of course the ball is completely in VZW's court - to price their products as they please, but I paid roughly $300 for mine about 3 months ago. Three months does not justify a price drop of more than 80%. Verizon should have unveiled the Razr at $100 - $150 and kept that price there throughout. The V60's price didnt change for at least 9 months after debut. While Cingular drastically undercut VZ's price and continued to cut the price of their Razr in the past 3 months this is still BS. Verizon surely planned such quick promotions ahead of time and took complet...

Just ANOTHER reason why I am paying to get out from under "The GREEDIEST cellular company in existence". Oh I know, I know... all you folks who say "you'll be begging to come back".
NO I WON'T !!! Regardless. Integrity has to come into play some where. It's a phone... not a Pacemaker... my life doesn't depend on it. Good thing too, as long as VZW is concerned. VZW should have never gotten involved in the world of Multi-media phones! They should've stayed where they used to be... Crappy little basic phones for their "you pay for everything that isn't basic phone operation" service. Carrying these MM phones only revealed in a BIG way how greedy they do biz. Oh, they now charge $20.00 to have one of their reps activate a different phone for yo...

Stop whining. You were willing to pay that price at the time. If you guys "needed" that phone that bad then you didn't mind the price that much.

Businesses exsist to make money. Is the behavior greedy? Not gonna argue this, but the point remains that you guys paid for it, deal with it. Businesses will sell something for whatever people will pay for it. Nobody forced you to pay $300 for a phone, but you HAD to have a razr on Verizon didnt you. So you paid out the nose and are now whining about it. Grow up.

ultima: yea i did need the phone that badly because i was waiting a whole year for verizon to deliver. im a die hard verizon / Motorola user and wouldn't switch that up for anything. the combo is unparalleled - never had any issues with service (signal - or customer service - EVER). and yea verizion IS a business and i knew that the price was going to drop - all that i am saying is that i am shocked at how quickly it dropped - feeling that it was to a degree - unfair. regardless, i was overdue for new hardware as i was rocking the v60c for the past 5 years. i would have kept that piece had verizon allowed me to (paid $425 - got every penny out of it) - but due to fcc regulations, after testing out the razr for a week and deciding that i want...

I can't believe I'm actually reading complaints about a price drop. Shouldn't we all be happy? How is it "unfair" to offer us a better deal? We all knew the initial price would be sky-high because of all the people who needed to be the first on the block with it.

I understand it's frustrating to pay so much and realize you could have gotten it cheaper if you had been more patient, but that's no reason to be upset with vz. Live and learn, my friend. When the next great phone comes out, you should be happy to know you may only have to wait a couple of months for the price to drop. I'm really glad to see that vz is quick to bring phone prices down to earth, especially since they hold out on us in other areas (bluetooth, etc).

I just...

VZW did a similar price drop on the Motorola V710 when it first came out. I sent a letter of complaint and made my case to customer service via their email system. And they credited my account with the price difference. You may want to try this for your RAZR and see if they agree with you. I did mention that I was seriously considering cancelling my contract -- which I was -- since it would be cheaper to just cancel it and get a better phone with a competitor. I guess they agreed with me and credited my account.
