I give up, getting the E815, RAZR SUKS!

i'm tired of the freakin thing. the razr is far from what it's cracked up to be.

after a couple new razr's i have no more patience.

buzzing speaker

lifting keypad

lack of reminder tone sound *many unanswered text's and voice mails*

slower than absoloute death trying to navigate

the fact of no flash is ludicrous

i had the 710 prior to this and it was awsome, now i'm gonna get the E815 in hopes that it will continue the 710 era and be reliable and actually useful.

i was outside of my 15 day's, but thankfully i talked with a VZ rep and they allowed me to return for the 815.

save yourself the headache and stay away from it now.

it make's me feel a bit better knowing and reading all of the problems other's are hav...

no... you must be persistent. i had the buzzing in the phone, the terribly loose keypad, and a horribly fitting battery clip! however, my 3rd phone has NONE of these problems. however, your other phone choice is solid.

not to bust chops here, but

is the 3rd phone any faster at navigation than the first 2?

are the reminder beeps loud enough that not only a bat can hear?

how long do you think it will take for this 3rd phone to develop the same problems as all the others?

it still doesnt have a dang flash. (i just think this idea fell through the cracks while motorola was thinking of the next phone for a gsm network) or they will now make a razr with a flash and then re-market it as new and improved?

i dont want to sound negative but I was ready for an upgrade this summer and waited this long.

The fact is this phone has been in the market and in circulation for quite some time now, i think that's what frustrates me the most of the whole orde...

oh hell nah man. i completely understand how you feel. my incentive to keep the dang thing was the $75 gift card im getting from circuit city for getting my razr there. you can bet the keypad coming loose will happen to my newest phone, but after having it in my pocket, i can never go back to a normal flip phone again. call clarity= great and ill be using a dongle to trasnfer stuff so no need for the transflash card. its annoying as hell that there is no ring/vibrate but once again... i love the size of it. the more i kept complaining about my razr the more i thought...it's small, amazing clarity compared to my old phone, good reception, looks tight, and technially im getting it for about $35 so why not keep it? it would cost me more to own ...

Verizon sticks by that 15 day guarentee like glue, so they obviously agree too, that the RAZR is crap to have exchanged it for you.

not to mention i already mailed the rebate back 😕

i told the vz person this while i was explaining my perdicament and they said they could just adjust the rebate i'd recieve.

i made out good and cant be upset, got the phone that i want and returned the one i felt was junk!

btw, this E815 aint all that bad. not too much different than my 710 but just enough to let me know i got a new phone in my hand!

the UI in the e815 is pretty sleek. i got it the skin set to techno. it's much easier to use than the razr and it should be every bit as good as the 710!

The Verizon UI on the 8100 is awesome! It has many more options than the RAZR or the 950 with the Verizon UI. I agree, MOTO UI is better on a MOTO phone!!!!! The Verizon UI is great on the 8100, but not on any other Verizon phone I have tried with it so far!

You complain it has no flash, well duh you knew that before you purchased the phone so why still get it? Have fin with your E815 but the RAZR was never meant for you.

so why are you in this thread? have nothing better to do?

if you read my post the freakin flash deal doesnt really affect the outcome that the phone suck's imho.

fact is if i dont get reminder beeps or miss calls cause the phone isnt near me I LOOSE MONEY! i use the phone for business as many here do. so to have in-audible reminders is ludicrous. fact is you cant even change them to a longer tone, you only have beep, vibrate, and off. i feel the software and choices you have were deleted from this phone without thought.

not to mention to even ha

Another review with no thougth put into it. The razor is consistant in it's reviews. You can ignore it if you choose but don't bad mouth it to the point that you make it pure junk. It's rediculous to comment the way you did.

bad mouth it to make it pure junk?

A $399.00 phone that has the issue's as stated on 3 or more pages on this site? i think the reviews on here speak for themselves. i'm not trying to badger somebody out of buying it, but think about it. it's been out for how long? bottom line is it should have ANY of the problems that people are stating. and to hear that verizon had this phone and even with held the release date due to testing? how long did they test it? why would you need to do substantial testing on a phone that's been out for this long?

my bitch is with motorola. there's no reason to have any querks now.

how did my review have no thought?
1. i stated the facts (pretty clear)
2. i stated my resolution (got another phone)

ferndog must have a very "personal relationship" with his RAZR or have his life depending on it's reviews because he can't seem to handle anyone saying anything but good stuff about the RAZR.

Mary Mary, I was a supporter of yours back when you were getting hammered.

Do I have a personal relationship? Thats a childish thing to say. What I have is a phone that works, in fact, works very well. I think you are missing my point big time. Anyone with a brain can see that the reviews of the razor in this forum and Howard's show a consistant pattern on what the razor does very well. I'll say it again....the one thing that is consistant wihout a doubpt is the call quality and clarity. Mary..this is huge! What amazes me even more is the fact that the die hard naysayers don't even mention the fact that the razor has very very good bluetooth that doesn't echo. Mary, let me ask you. Take away the toys on the 8100 that you have(MP3...

My 8100 works perfect as a phone. I do not have any volume problems, call clarity is amazing. On the RAZR I could hear a hollow sound when on a call and an echo on my end and the reciever's end while using Bluetooth and while using the handset only, not to mention buzzing in the earpiece.

Your just not getting my whole point here. Just because you think the call quality and clarity is the best on the RAZR and believe there is no echo on any RAZR, doesn't mean that's neccessarily the case. I have not had any of the "bugs" that others have had on my 8100, but I certainly don't discredit those who have or get on these forums and defend it like you do the RAZR and basically say everyone who doesn't like it is wrong. Some people will li...

To say a phone sucks tells me that you must be under 20 years of age. Let me say this before we go on. I have had every Verizon phone under the sun. My personal favorite is the v60s and v65s(limited quanity but worth it), 8100 and 815(8100 and 815 were the last 2 phones I used) If you put the 815 in a LG8100 body, I don't think either of us would be talking right now.

Sorry, I cut myself off before I could finish what I wanted to say. I have read all of the reviews here and at Howards. The fact is that more and more people are staying with the razor and I know many who took them back only to buy them again. In just 3 weeks, the razor is holding a very consistant rating of 3.5 or above in this forum alone. My last words to you is this...I'll get back to you in about a month and we'll see where the razor is in the review section. Other then that, enjoy the 815, it's a very nice phone. If my razor were to take a dump, I would probably buy that one.

you stated call clarity. it WAS Ok the first couple of day's i had it. that was until the speaker blew, or something rattled loose inside of the phone. (seems to be a common problem here)

i had many complaints from friends family business partners that said they couldnt hear me or that i kept cutting in and out while i was on speaker phone.

and im in a wonderful state where it's illegal to talk on cell phones and drive.hence the reason for a good speaker phone.

i will be interested to see where the reviews are in a month or two. i would assume somewhat high since by then i would think motorola and vz got their heads out of each other's A**'s.

and i will again say, to have a problem with a new phone is one thing. but to have a p...

Hey Bull, I don't want to get in the middle of this with you, Mary and Ferndog, but I just wanted to address the portion of your message quoted above. The only thing the the v3c and the v3 have in common is the shell. They are completely different phones on the inside. The Razr that Cingular and T are selling are first generation and the v3c is more like third generation.

From the camera, to the memory, to the keypad, to the displays, everything is newer. So to say that this phone has been out a while and should be without...

the bugs that people got were not related to software most of what i read.

your tellin me the speaker, keypad and such are different?

as far as i can tell the keypad is the same. i have a friend with a cingular razr and they look pretty much identical. regardless the keypad mounts to the phone the same way it would if it were cingular, so to have it lifting is not feasable.

Bull, glad you chose the E815. It's the best Moto
Verizon has. Great reception, great sound, great speakerphone, great bluetooth etc etc Phone first, camera way down the list!!
I switched over from V710 with ne2 and will keep this one unless some major new technology comes along. Enjoy https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php ?fm=m&ff=767&fi=478550#
