There is lots of way to get mp3 to the razr.

You can email them to your phone, bluetooth, or mobile phone tools.

If you want a super super easy way I would go to www.funformobile.com, I use it all the time.

When you get to the site on the left you will see upload ring tones and upload wallpaper. Just save whatever mp3 or wallpaper you want to desktop and nav to it. It will come in as a text and you can set as wallpaper or ring tone. Let me know if you have problems or want to know another way.

carry on 🙂

I'm actually having problems with this. It is because I've been using MIDIs? I use funformobile and receive a text. I even emailed it to the phone (via @vtext.com and @vzwpix.com). I cannot receive the text directly to my cell. The text informs me to view the message on www.vzwpix.com. When I try to access my "Pix Place" on the RAZR, I receive a 403 Forbidden error.

Weird, I have no idea why that is. Do this though. MIDI will work perfect so that is not the issue. Try this site man and see if it works with one of these midi.

http://www.mididb.com/ »

also try emailing them with yournumber@vzw.com

not pix dot or textdot.com

Good news gunny. I got it to work. I retested the @vzw, @vzwpix and @vtext. @vtext did it. As per the text message plan, I don't have the unlimited for $5. I'm on the $3 for 100 (I don't do that much text messaging, just enough that without the plan it cost me 3 bucks anyway.)

Now what do I do to get the midi to function as a ringer?

Very appreciative,

Another thought...do pay five bucks for unlimited text? I don’t, but the reason I ask is because I was trying to get mp3 to my sisters phone and couldn't. I finally got frustrated and called verizon and sure enough verizon had something messed up with the text message on her account.

It looks like funformobile might be tripin tonight. I sent one and still haven’t received it yet. On second thought I have had a text from them an hour later. Any who once you can receive a normal text message then try the site later on or tomorrow. It is free so it’s not perfect. I really think it’s the site tonight, OK I got the same message…it’s the site!!!

Is anyone having an issue with the phone that the downloaded sound files are very quite when applied as ringers?
I just posted a new thread on the same issue...(MP3 Ringers Super Quite (coming out of wrong speaker)! )
I think Verizon F'd us again 👿 because the sound is coming out of the wrong speaker. Its playing at max volume but your earpiece speaker cant play it any louder.

Let me know if anyone is having the same problem.
Thanks

For all the verizon Razr v3c people out there who want different ringtones, aren't techy, and don't have the bluetooth stuff - i did ringtones in the easiest way yet. i went to walmart.com, i searched in music for some songs i liked, i right clicked the "listen" icon next to the song, and clicked "save target as", which saved it to my computer to a nice easy spot of my choice :-). i then went to funformobile.com and uploaded the file to my phone (browsed back to the nice easy spot on my computer). pix message came into phone, i pressed options and "save sound". i then set that as my ringtone.
this was too easy, even for a dork like me. and it worked perfectly on the verizon razr v3c. it did not work on a number of other friends phones i th...

I thought walmart used a *.wsx format for their previews. Isn't the *.wsx file strictly a streaming format? Or am I doing something wrong? I went through the classic store.

when i saved the clip from walmart.com, it saved it to my computer as an mp3 file. then when i uploaded it to my phone from funformobile.com, the phone saved the sound as a .mid file. if walmart.com isn't working for you, try amazon. the sound is very loud and clear as a ringtone on my razr.

If you are ready to overcome the misconception that anything techy is just too much to handle, the easiest way to transfer MP3 files to my V3C was through bluetooth..just get a bluetooth adapter for 20 bucks, install the blue tooth software that comes with the adapter, stick the adapter in one of your USB ports in your computer, 'pair' your phone with the computer (pairing is nothing but a process of locating any other blue tooth devices around you), and then transfer the file.. my phone was in my living room, my laptop was in my bedroom and i had no issues transferring the mp3 files... all of this installation and procedure just took me 15 minutes... so now I have my fav mp3 song as my ringtone...it's fabulous!

I don't understand the trouble you are having.
1. .mp3 files do not play very well on the phone. They sound very low. You should use midi files .mid. You can convert mp3 files to midi, and if you need a walkthrough let me know and I will write one. The limit is how much free memory you have on your phone. I use a midi file that is 218KB long, which is really too long because I start missing calls because I like listening to the music (lol).
2. I use windows: to send a file to my phone I just right click and send an email to xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com. It arrives at my phone. If this method does not work call verizon because there is some setting that is not set correctly, this method should work for the razr. I think the phone consider...

When they are saved to your desktop as .mp3 files, you can change them to .midi by first going to your computers settings to control panel, then folder options and under view you need to uncheck "hide extensions for known file types" then go back to your desktop, right click on your saved MP3 choose rename and then change from .mp3 to .midi and save. Computer will tell you that by doing this the file may be unusable, or something like that. Just ignore it. When you then put it on your phone it will work perfectly.

I use Audacity to open the mp3 file and take a portion of it (since I only use it for ringtones I do not want the whole song). I save it as a wave file. I use FreeRip to convert the file to mono and it automatically saves it as it mp3 file. I then change the file name to .mid, use MPT to transfer it to the phone and it works great on my phone.
MIF.
