Razor software update
i have been informed today the the the software updat for the v3c will contain the ring and vibe feature , as well as the mp3 player capability . the update is expected in january , but if you cant wait , there are always seem edits to enable the feature , because its in the phone . but wile programing the vzw user interface which we all hate the feature was locked and taken out of the menu . but the update will resolve the issue

the buzz is the this moto might keep the obex profile to compensate for the lack of a transflash slot , and it will also be used when the new music service is luanched so the you can transfer musice that you hve paid for between your pc and computer

It really looks like verizon is coming around on their policies. If they make changes like that they will truly be an unbeatable company. Thanks for that encouraging news.

a free txt mess age will be sent out to affected customers , informing them to come in and have the software upgraded

No, and sometimes even though you are supposed to get the text, you won't, so best bet is to keep checking on here. I guarentee you will hear it here first.

Is there any difference in getting the upgrade versus those folks who purchase the phone after the upgrade? It's really just the same thing, right? I'm asking because I have (as we probably all do with Verizon) until January 15th to return the phone....

You say you have until January 15th to return? That would mean you bought it on December 31! You better check your dates if your planning on returning in your 15 day period so you don't get screwed.

Firmware updates are free so if VZW comes out with one you just bring your phone in to get it updated.. but just some advise if they are planning an update don't use get it now any apps that you buy will be lost when they update your phone and its very hard to get a credit for the stuff you purchased..

If the update is done correctly, you won't lose anything. Getting credit is easy, as long as you re-download the EXACT same apps you want credit for.

if done correctly they can save your phonebook thats about it otherwise the whole phone is wipe out.. all the pix or videos, games, ringtones all of that is gone also with the phone book its not too big of a deal but it wipes out which number is considered primary so when you get the phone back review your contacts or you maybe calling the wrong number

Wow! I hear so much on here about software updates, what it will fix, what it won't, etc. etc. etc. Well, noone even knows for sure if there even will be a software update, when it will be or what it will cover. It's all speculation/hope whatever you want to call it. Hard to believe that a software update is even in the works since this phone was just released. I know people say that Verizon just wanted to get this phone out before Christmas, but come on, do you really think they would release it then immediately release a software update?

no wut a software update is, as soon as it comes out, u can bring ur phone bak to verizon and just get the software reinstalled with the update. You get your same exact phone. Wen it comes to losing contacts pictures or rings i dont knoe.

When the update becomes avaliable you to a store with a service center and they will flash your phone. So you will get the upgrades. It takes about 30-45 minutes to complete.
