Alright, well i tried it and I just couldn't do it....too many things about the phone that just pissed me off

1. The lag between menus was ridiculous! Very annoying and was pretty much a major deal breaker

2. Reception was okay, but not great. Got much better reception with my 8000 (which is what I switched back to)

3. the menu button is so poorly placed its not even funny. Only the GSM razr the menu buttom is at the top of the phone in b/t the top left and right buttons (where it should be on this phone). On the V3c the menu button is really hard to push and not very responsive

4. No vibe and ring option...cmon moto, i couldn't believe they didnt have this as an option.

5. kinda difficult to text with, not a major iss...

Same here. Got phone yesterday. I will return also for same exact reasons. I miss my E815 too much. I will wait until software upgrade or a newer model comes out. The menu is ridiculous.

Sounds like maybe I made the right decision not buying the razr. I also have some things I dislike about the nokia 6256i but most are minor complaints. It works pretty well. But I was thinking of taking it back and getting a razr but now after reading these posts I might not do that.

Well I am sorry you did not like the RAZR. I have an LG VX 7000 and I love the phone and am "considering" going with the RAZR.
I do think the phone is more hype and marketing than anything else.
And as for the menu: Verizon has (it is my educated belief) made that menu GUI the default for all of their phones going forward.
No more Moto menus etc.

VZW I think you mean, they do not make phones... they just put out the phones that the manufacturers make...

True, but they must have enough pull with the manufucturers to suggest simple changes like colors. I'm sure samsung would put out a black or silver 950 if vzw demanded it...

the blade is not comming to verizon BUT that does not mean that you cannot program one to work on vzw service 😁

I haven't even got mine yet... but I am already questioning if I will like it or not????? ☚ī¸

The lack of the transflash card slot is a major bummer!!!!!!!!! But since I do also have a blue-tooth capable PDA.... I will see how it goes..... Planning on storing most items on PDA and then can move them to the phone when I need.

the phone just did not live up to my expectations...you might like it, but when I do an upgrade I want it to be a true upgrade, and I really did not feel ike the razr was a true upgrade from my LG 8000...Good luck to those who are enjoying the phone...im not here to hate on it, it just didnt fit my needs.

You keep saying you arent here to hate it, but every time anyone says anything about it you keep saying how much you don't like it... I think you are lying somewhere...

I am pretty much in the same boat. My complaint list is:

1. UI stinks. Very little customization is possible. Even the colors suck. Menu response time is poor. I think they want you to use voice commands more. Save me from Verizon if this is going to be on all new phones.

2. There is no official driver for plugging the phone into your PC to sync calendar or contacts. You will have to get one through this or another forum. FYI, you also cannot charge the phone that way.

3. Agree as terrible: no ring plus vibe; absence of dedicated menu key; iTap

I think mine is going back too. I am first experimenting with battery life, then reception, and even if it passes those tests, then if I can't get a bootleg driver it's gone.

No offense to those who took theirs back. The razor is a fine phone. As I thought, it's the kids in this forum that complain the most. I can tell you that without a doubpt, this phone will sell big. It will sell big because it doesn't look like a toy and it's a very proffesional looking phone. As I said in earlier posts, this phone does everything well as a phone first. Add thestyle factor and you have a slam dunk. The problem with you users that are taking them back is that you are to quick to judge a phone. It's been out a few days and you are labeling it as a failure. The hype of the phone did you in and you are kicking yourselves now because of that. I knew months ago on just what to expect on this phone.

Once I got the driver update for MPT from a fellow forum user, I have to admit that the phone looks a lot better to me. I for one never considered that it would be anything less than a success except for some phone geeks (like me) who want every conceivable feature and complete customization control.

The problem with you opinion is that this phone doesn't do everything well. If the phone turns out to be a huge success, it will be predominantly due to its style. Many buyers want exclusivity, which this phone has. I do agree that buyers need to live with the phone for the full 15 days before making a decision. I was tempted to take it back immediately, however decided to keep it and see how well I adjust to it....the learning curve.

Does it have the verizon UI? The reason I ask is because my RAZR menus work fine with no lag, and I have vibrate/ring option on my phone. IS the Alltel RAZR and Verizon RAZR two different phones?

This is not an LG UI... they were just the first to adopt it...

The LG rep came into our store today and I asked him what the deal was and he said that since LG received a JD Power & Associate award for customer satisfaction with their handsets, Verizon decided to use that same ui all across the board.

Well, actually if that is the only reason... VZW should have no problem with us wanting back the Moto UI and the things we lost due to it.

From what I have read, we lost a lot in compairison to the Alltel product!!!!!!!

that sucks, they took an awesome phone and turned it into complete garbage. All the stuff he was upset with, I had on my phone. Also is it hard to text on the phone? I use iTAP and its the best and so easy to use.
