Need to simplify this phone for business use
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
I use this phone for business and I need to make it easier to use.
I want to get rid of the icons in the menu and have a list view and I want to reorder the list so the things I use most frequently are on top.
I want to have a light colored plain background so I can see things clearly.
I would just as soon get rid of the whole themes thing, or get a very plain one with easy to read fonts.
Am I stuck with getting another phone or can I make this one do what I need?

I honestly don't see this as a business oriented phone, and I've also read that Sony Ericsson didn't design it as such. You might get what you want from a motorola, such as the RAZR. In the office building I work in, I see a lot of these, and other motorolas around, heh.

Thats kind of what I was afraid of. I had a RAZR and had nothing but problems with it.
The reason I chose this phone is that I can ust the fast forward call forwarding from Cingular, also that it has blue tooth.
I tried a Nokia 6102 but couldn't get a shortcut to work for call forwarding and I use the fast forward all the time. Saves me lots of minutes.
I had a Moto V551 but it died.
Doesn't anyone make a reliable business phone that can still do the things you need to do like bluetooth?

It seems like the more business oriented phones are the higher end pda style phones. As for reliability...I gave up on believing in this for a phone long ago. To be perfectly honest, if you want a good phone, such as the V551, try to get a refurbished one. They are held to equal or better standards of brand new phones, and actually tend to last longer since every single one goes through some kind of testing (I use to work for radio shack's cellular repair center).
A firmware update should be coming from SE for this phone due to the severe problems found with the software on it. Maybe there will be some changes to suit you better with that.

I returned my z520. And I like all the goofy icons. But it's too hard to see (white letters on the front? come on - great idea in the sunlight)... and dropped calls, those touchy side buttons... etc. Good riddance. 😉
