Camera Sound

When my phone is in silent, the camera sill makes the shutter sound. This is a problem because when i'm in class, the button is so sensitive, that it takes pictures in my pocket, making the shutter sound. Is there any way to disable the sound?

Phone manufacturers and service providers have been pressured to make it so the camera sound cannot be disabled. This is to prevent taking the phone into naughty places and taking pictures silently.

The problem with how easy it is to hit the button is well known and the only fix is to use the leather cover (which is of poor quality) or some other holster. I still managed to hit the button sometimes in the leather cover, but so far the plastic clip holster seems to be better (stays better on the hip, doesn't really stick out enough to catch on anything).

That's weird. When I mute my phone I dont hear the shutter sound. I called SE, they were very nice and took down all my problems. Will they do something, I dont know. I'll post another thread of the conversation.

I can confirm that the sound doesn't come on when it's in silent mode. I always wondered if there was a way to turn that off.

Do you get that note icon on the top of the screen? There's no camera sound when I do it. With a unmodified z520a.

I get no camera sound when in silent mode, with that icon on top of the screen. I tried it with phone open and closed, no shutter sound.

Instead of using silent mode, I edited my MEETING profile to silence all key sounds. When using the meeting profile I have no shutter sound.

While, we are on the subject of profiles, I created a new profile called NAP for when I need to get some sleep. I then edited the profile so that it is silent and refuses all calls EXCEPT for selected contacts in my contact list. Very handy!

You can have the software modified to kill the shutter sound on models that don't allow it. I'm sending mine to iUnlock.com to be unlocked, updated and to kill the shutter.

Instead of using silent mode, I edited my MEETING profile to silence all key sounds. When using the MEETING profile I have no shutter sound. You'll find the PROFILES by pressing the MENU button then scrolling right and down to SETTINGS. Under the GENERAL tab you'll find PROFILES. Choose SELECT PROFILE and find the MEETING profile, you can then edit it or any other profile any way you want it to work.
