I think this phone is really cool looking. I like the yellow. The nextel phones look so durable and tough. I hope when Sprint and Nextel share the same cdma technology that they will continue to have these type of Motorola phones. I want one! šŸ˜

Yea, it does look good, and I like the color schemes because it attracts peopleā€™s eyes and that is why they did yellow and black for the branding. In addition, this is like the 530 but with more features and it is a good-looking phone in my view.

if nextel started to use CDMA from sprint none of these phones would work, they are only made to support IDEN

I know when it is supposedly coming out, however, I cant say it.

I feel bad that I couldnā€™t be of service to you. Loll. By the way, Usually when southern linc comes out with a phone first, Nextel will follow suit within a few months later.

Therefore, that is a bit of a hint for you. šŸ™‚

The phone shows up in FDT on Nextel and I was told it will be the black version first than it will be followed up by the yellow/black style.

Release date set for Monday 8-01-05

Hope that helps anyone.

Maybe this is a stupid question but why would Southern Linc which is a local carrier get phones before Nextel which is a national carrier. Sorry again if it's a stupid question.

You need to remember something and that is, there are no stupid questions especially if you want to obtain/acquire knowledge. If you get more educated and intelligence from the question then it isnā€™t stupid because you get a return and perhaps one day you will use it when someone asks the same question. So donā€™t say that.

I can answer that question for you. It is because southernlinc is a smaller carrier and obviously, Nextel is a big carrier and is nationwide. In addition, they are very careful with their inventory and they have the phones tested thoroughly because Motorola has been ā€œmessingā€Ā up lately. So with that said, southern linc always has phones faster onto the marketplace then Nextel because of that very reason and probably ...

Not a problem.
I don't post much but I check the posts every so often.

I just hope they release the i870 this year because I think it will be there best phone ever. Messed around with the i930 and it seems to cumbersome. Not to mention no bluetooth. He did however state that there are a lot more phones on their roadmap for next year (IE i890 or i960).

Yea, that is true, especially when people donā€™t know the information. I actually knew that information and the other phones that you have mentioned and future ones to come but that confidentiality agreement prohibits me from saying when they will come out etc, which is a shame because I truly like to help people.

I totally understand. I get so many questions daily about the new phones that are coming out.
Our Moto Rep knew there were a few of us that use different web forums and that he couldn't show us the other phones even though he had them on his laptop computer. Also liked the next wave of BT Headsets that are coming out. As soon as the H5 is released I will be put up the money to buy it.

Thanks. I tell people that and they are like who cares, but I will follow it because I could get into trouble and lose my contacts and I donā€™t want to do that. I just say please wait till it comes to the marketplace then I can tell you whatever you want about it. sometimes these forums are actually monitored by the government agencies, especially on yahoo, so I try not to disclose any information that could trigger an SEC lawsuit.

It is too bad that the united states has to be behind in Asia and/or Europe when it comes to technology because they do have some pretty cool stuff that is either out now or is coming out soon.

Thanks for the quick reply. What I meant by that was that maybe it was metioned before in this or nextel forum. By the way I go through the other forums once in a while and notice you getting trashed by other people. Don't let the man keep you down.

Yeah I had seen that as well for quite some time. He has been around this website for a long time. Newbs come in and talk cr&p and they don't even know what they are talking about half the time. I just find the humor in viewing other forums and seeing how some people have to one up one another. Same goes with of the bad photoshop pics I have seen on the web. Especially for the i870. Funny stuff.

I made a post to your post and it is on http://www2.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php ?fm=m&ff=760&fi=344817 any questions please ask but I hope I answered your question the way you wanted it to be. Sometimes I am not clear so I always ask people to try to ask questions that are more specific so I can be 100 percent direct in answering their questions.
