Poor Reception
Here's my problem. I bought 4 phones on the family plan, and they work great for the rest of the family. I however work for the railroad. My signal will go bye-bye very quick. It will go from 3 bars to zip instantly. I work with co-workers, also on Verizon who keep signals all the way up the road. Is this phone known for weak signal reception? Are there any fixxes? Or, are there any suggestions for phones, on Verizon, That are better recievers? Also, I don't like the user interface, poor icons, poor contrast, etc.

Yes, a lot of ppl complain that the 850 doesn't have very good reception. ☹️
If you want good reception, you generally have to go with Nokia or Motorola. Motorolas are gorgeous-looking phones, but they tend to have glitches a lot of the time. Nokias tend to be ugly, but work great, and they dont use the Verizon user interface (yet).
I'd take a look at the Nokia 6256 (which is only at Circuit City or Best Buy)... I've got one now, and the reception is very, very good.
