A few questions......

Hi,
I have been on PhoneScoop for quite awhile now, but just recently started considering getting a Blackberry and although I feel like I'm pretty knowledgeable about cell phones, I don't really know too much about the Blackberry to be honest. What I would like to know is....

1. What all can I do with it?

2. What are the advantages of having it over a regular cell phone?

3. What is the full retail price?

If anyone has any info for me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi Mary,
seen you around the LG board. The blackberry has got to be the best push style email PDA phone out there. You can do eveything a cell phone does and then some.Web,email,datebook..so on and so on.With the BB you can pull your own email up to 10 accounts including your new one...yourname@vzw.blackberry.net.I ordered mine this morning.I am switching from the 9800.
Full retail is $419.(cheaper than my 9800 when I got it)

Hey LG, Why are you going with the blackberry over the 9800? They currently priced at the promotional price at the same price (199.99).

Lets say you get wireless sync and text messaging and you have a plan of 59.99. That means your bill will be about 80 dollars. With the 9800. Your bill then increases about 30 dollars more than that if you get the blackberry, AND then you have to find someone to host your blackberry e-mail so that the e-mail works correctly, right? (I am not exactly sure on the last point)

I am in the same boat where I am deciding between these two phones. I have had a blackberry before, and it has been my favorite phone I have ever had, but I didn't have to pay for the plans in the past...

Dont get me wrong my 9800 has been great but there where some things I did not like. With the email on the 9800 it only checks it once an hour.Unless you do it your self. The BB is real time a Push email.I did not like the fact there is no speaker phone when the 9800 is closed. The 9800 had no space for street addresses. I do like the web over the 9800 with the BB.The biggest reason I am changing is the fact that you can tether the BB for EVDO on your laptop.and not get in trouble.I did this with my 9800 and got a call from VZW telling me they where going to shut my data down if I did it again. You get a free email with blackberry like yourname@vzw.blackberry.net when you get the data plan.

All in all I think it is just a better way for me to...
