EVDO & modem tethering

Please pardon my ignorance, but can someone please explain these things to me. I just got the 7130 and love it. The sales person at Verizon told me that EVDO is kind of like a high speed Internet access for the wireless phone. I've been reading that it allows for modem tethering. The documentation from RIM is minimal. I want to get the most out of this phone and really want to understand the features. Thanks.

you should have connection software that comes with it. the unlimited blackeberry plan is 49.99, and you need to have the additional tethering option on your account which is 14.99, ev-do access. the aircard is unlimited for the same price, but you get blackberry push e-mail free, for the same price. you need to log of the blackberry relay portion before you can establish a modem connection. jsut remember you cannot get voice call, while conntected as a modem.

you can connect to a call if you are in a EV-DO area. If you do not have a EV-DO signal then you cannot answer a call

With a voice plan unlimited data (outside share lines) is discounted to $44.99.

You should also check out the bundle plans. Core Choice, Extra Choice, and Max Choice. They further reduce the extra cost of unlimited data.
