does any one know of a java based GPS that i can download to my a940 phone. either to track by the computer or maybe to use for maps using the phone.

Check the Google local for mobile, it is available to the A940 and it is just GREAT! For maps, and driving direction.
But i don't think you can track the phone with it though, it is like Google Earth on your mobile.
