Its a common problem with this phone. I found that if you power off the phone before you plug in the charger and leave it off during the charge, it will always work ok.

The three that I got did have the charge problem. All with the latest version 09. If you exchange it you might get a good one.

My phone although I have only charged it three times so far, sometimes says "unauthorized charger" or something like that but if I unplug it and plug it back in the message goes away and the phone charges as it should. Other than initially saying that on both screens it seems to function properly. If you don't want to see the phone light up every now and then while charging just turn the "event lights" to OFF under SOUND SETTINGS. 😉

Personally, when I go to my car I plug in the phone without turning it off, and at night I usually do turn it off before plugging it into the house charger. Also (see above) in response to MORRISGREY, the first time I plugged my phone into the official house charger it said "unauthorized charger". I unplugged it and plugged it in again and never got the message again, not even when I plugged the phone into my computer USB port as noted in my previous posting.
