Looks like Kyocera is intelligently exploiting a large niche in the market....

First the Soho and now this. Looks like Kyocera is intelligently exploiting a large niche in the market... all the ppl who want a nice basic flip with speakerphone, trimode, and outside display, but NO camera (either because their work doesn't allow cameraphones, or because they already have a digital camera).

The LG-3300 could've been a great phone for this market but alas, no outside display. Ditto the Sammy 650. The Soho had all the basic features ppl wanted, but had rather weird styling (something Kyocera needs to start avoiding). But this KX9 looks like it gets pretty much everything right.

The only thing I don't like is the vertical outside display... too gimmicky, its a bit silly to have to orient the phone 'the right way' eve...

Maybe, maybe not. The KX-1 (SoHo) also has a vertical display veriant, lets hope the also make a horizontal version of the KX9!
