Pantech PN-215 / CDM-8915 / Snapper / PN-300
Verizon really offering this phone?
☹️ From the bits I have been reading, Pantech shipped the Pantech pn-215 directly to Verizon stores and not going through UTStarcom. For some reason is there some problem between Verizon and Pantech due to this? I bought the Pantech PN 215 from a Verizon dealer and now the extras don't seem to work. I also don't seem to be able to find it listed on the Verizon website, apparently they do not offer it according to the website. Customer service was wishy-washy about the phone, not even seeming to know if Verizon stores are supposed to offer this phone (this was back in December, and I still can't get a straight answer between the Verizon store and Verizon Customer Care itself. Does anybody else have similar problems?

Talked to a VZW employee and he indicated that it is a legit Verizon phone. It seems it was suppose to launch only with agents until early 2006.
They seem to have pushed it into their own retail stores at the last minute for the holidays. I'm sure the support people were caught off guard and unprepared to discuss the phone.
It is my understanding that Pantech is a sister company to Curitel, not UTStarcomm.

VZW will be carrying a similiar phone to this handset. They will be carrying the PN-210. Price and Release date has not yet been set.

Correction: The PN-210 will be available in Circuit City and Home Depot locations only on January 16th, 2006. It will be available in BJ's locations as well when their current inventory of the CDM 8615 has been sold.

Wow. I bought the PN 215 in December 2005. I think my salesman was playing fast and loose with something he wasn't supposed to.
