I just bought my 9900 on Verizon Wireless's website. I wasn't eligible for an upgrade because I only bought the 9800 in February, but I was toying around with using someone else's account to buy it tomorrow and then swap the ESN and activate my number on the phone. I went online tonight to see if it was on the site yet and it was, and they showed it for 50 percent off!!! Of course, I snatched it up right away. I really wanted the phone in my hands tomorrow morning but 160+tax is a lot better than the 199+tax+rebate+swapping lines business.
2-5 days, and I didn't even have to touch my contract.

if you're coming from the 9800, which is an amazing phone, why the rush to get the 9900? I have had the 9800 since the first day it was released and waiting for my new every 2 to kick in to get a new phone. but I can't see any reason to "upgrade" to 9900. same freaking phone, just a little thinner. if I wanna real upgrade I'll get a PDA.
if the 9900 had a larger internal screen, maybe, just maybe that would have been motivator, since 2meg camera is not a motivator either. I love my 9800, it's has been working incredibly well, but when it's time to upgrade I'll not be buying its replacement, since it would be just like owning the 9800 to me. S
