Volume on phone

Ok i noticed that on the 9800 you have to put the ringer volume up louder in order to both hear the ringer and hear the voice say whose calling if you've got the voice command mode set to announce alerts. I mean compared to the 8100 and the 8300 whose speakers are located on the outside of the phone, our phone seems like you've got to raise the volume up a bit. For ex. on the 8100 you can set it to medium and still hear the alerts and ringer. On the 9800, you have to set it t medium loud or max it out cause i guess the speakers are located on the inside. Does anybody here agree with me? Just wondering...
