I know. I saw that. I should have provided more detail when I said to thejonnotjohn to look at verizon.com. It seems the name has changed. Marketing reasons? The "V" means something to someone.

Per Jim Grothjan, senior sales manager for LG the name change came at the request of Verizon. It is nothing more than a marketing strategy, a number of customers would see the phones advertise on television and could not remember the specific model number of the phone when they would visits the stores or call customer care. They are hoping it will be easier to remember a name rather than a number, for example the Verizon V, the Migo, or even the Motorola Razor. Hope this helps!
