if the 9900 is the chocolate, then it depends on what you like i guess. I heard the chocolate plays music, not sure about video i dont know if it has external memory or internal. Doesn't ahve speaker or a keyboard. But it's thin, awesome looking, slider.

The 9800 can do everything but make breakfast pretty much.

The 8500 is the chocolate. It is available online though it disappointingly lacks a functional speakerphone and camera flash. The 9900 is the upgrade to the 9800 but not sure if rumors of a Sept release date are true...

aight so do u think its a good idea to go with the chocolate cuz i rele like both the chocolate and the V the qwerty keyboard was nice but it wasnt a "must have". and i can live with texting on a regular number pad for another 2 years it doesnt bother me. plus the chocolate looks alot better (in my opinion).

The release date is Nov. 18th. I'm wary of the phone simply because Verizon IS known for taking functionality away from a phone during the upgrade... But, it looks a lot thinner and seems relatively the same inside and out... Good Luck.

Not that 2 days really matter but there is no way that this phone will be released before November 20th simply due to the fact that all FCC documents for the 9900 are temporarily confidential until 11/20/06. It wouldn't make much sense to hide the documents about the product but release the actual phone earlier would it? The person who wrote the messages in the link from the last post claims that his friend in Verizon financial knows for sure but they are just adding to the speculation for the actual release date.

Yes there is an LG 9900 that will be released by Verizon within a few months.

1. It has a micro SD
2. A 2 megapixel camera with a lens shudder.
3. Is slimmer and opens up slightly differently...you may or may not like it.
4. Is slightly lighter.
5. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t= 968677 - shows an accurate picture of the 9900 when opened.

There is no scroll bar and the screen looks about the same. No idea if the battery life is improved or not either. I do not use the phone as my personal so I can't get into details, but at least you have some confirmations with regards to the new device.

That is pretty exiting news. Do you have any info on an exact release date? Why does it seem like it has been so hush hush?

Not really because the 9900 is an upgraded version of the 9800. Once the 9900 comes out, you won't be able to purchase the 9800 from Verizon anymore.

Most people's biggest hangup with the 9800 was it's size. LG has addressed that with the 9900, therefore if those are your two choices, I would say wait for the 9900.
