And I was looking at the vx8100 which is basically the same phone with out the key bored, and I'm looking at it and it has V cast Music on it. Well I bought my "V" In December of last year..so its somewhat an "original" and I was wondering if there is a firmware update to make it V cast Music compatible.

🙄 Yes, There is a software update for the VX9800 that adds V-Cast music and allows the phone to recognise 2GB miniSD cards too. 👀
Just go into your local verizon corporate store that has Technicians (selectron employees) and ask them to flash your vx9800 to the latest software version (v.05) 😎
a few recommendations: 🤤
-remove any miniSD card you may have in the phone prior to giving your phone to the Techs or it might get wiped clean.
-make a list of the games you have on the phone (if you have any)
-if possible, create a backup of the entire file system with Bitpim or Qpst just as a precaution (or if you wanna restore your GIN games at no cost)
Hope this helps 😢
