Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to put a full length movie onto a memory card so that it will play in a 9800. I have never done this and have a customer looking to do it, so the directions will be printed and passed along. Thanks.

just follow the directions on the video converter you use to convert the movie to 3GPP format. Drag the finished product and drop in the MY_FLIX folder on your card.

that was very very vauge -_-

Here are step by step instructions:

1: Download this amazingly powerful 3GP_converter program made by Japanese people (http://www.nurs.or.jp/~calcium/3gpp/3GP_Conv erter034.zip)

2: Open the 3PG_Converter folder and run the Setup.exe and choose General: 3GPP+AAC General Setting.

3: Then run 3GP_Converter (3GP_Converter.exe)
Select QVGA Normal quality 15fps Stereo or Mono. Or select QVGA High quality.

4: Specify a "OUTPUT DIRECTORY". It cannot be a root drive, it has to be in a FOLDER.

5: Drag and Drop the video you want into the place where it says "Drag&Drop files here"

if you have problems converting certain videos. REINSTALL Quicktime.

Notice: You CANNOT converter .mkv files or .ogm files that have more than one video/audio/subtitle stream.

Thanks...Very good info and easy to follow. One last question. What is the best method of downloading/uploading dvd quality films to the computer to then convert to the 9800? Do you recommend downloading from a limewire like software or do you recommend burning from an actual dvd via a dvd drive?

In all honestly i would recommend Ripping an Actual DVD then converting. This method gives you least possible amount of quality loss.

BUt if you download from like Limewire or other p2p networks, they already have the DVD compressed, thus resulting in SOME quality loss.

But watching a movie on a 320x230 screen, you wont notice ;)

But take note, some p2p movies, use the new h264 codec and or mp4 format. And the 3GP_converter might have some problems converting.

It doesn't happen alot. Also remember, some DVD movies out there might be in mkv format, and 3GP_converter cannot convert multi stream files.

DVD Rip is still probably the best way to go..safest and easiest if you dont know what you are doing.

For video you don't need a cable if you have a miniSD and card reader (or multimedia machine). Just copy the converted file to the MY FLIX folder on the card using a card reader.
