Hi! This is my first post here. Take it for what it's worth (repy from an LG first level responder) but here is the answer, along with my subsequent follow-up; I also copied my follow-up into the Verizon Wireless 'Contact Us' page.

Thank you very much for the fast reply.

I feel that this fact should be CLEARLY SPECIFIED in the product information manual, on your website and also by Verizon Wireless.

Please let me know LG's plans to make these changes.

The VX9800 DOES support the 1 GB mini-SD cartridge. It's working for me and numerous others. Check the Howard Forums 🙂

I don't think the rep knew what he was talking about.

You may very well be able to use a 1GB miniSD. However, 1GB is the maximum capacity of the card. 512MB is the maximum card memory capacity that will be supported by your handset. As such, any data stored above the 512MB of supported memory may not be recognized or accessible by the handset. Hence, you could experience problems transferring or viewing data that exceeds the supported capacity.

Thank you again for inquiring of L...

there is no 512MB limit for store/access. there is 1 GB limit.

Actually there are reports of folks using 2GB miniSD cards in the 9800.

Various places you will find the "official" line from LG that the 9800 only supports a 512MB card.
By the same token other places you will find the "official" line from LG that the 9800 supports a 1GB card.
Then again you can find some reports of it working with a 2GB card.

I can tell you from personal experience that a 1 GB Sandisk will work -- as for the rest Caveat emptor....
