I agree and I disagree.
I agree to the fact that there are some people that only need a phone that makes and receives calls. And that Sprint in general has been on hiatus with phones reflecting this market.

I disagree with the fact that people buy phones just for what a telephone is supposed to do. Just look at cordless phones. They are beginning to do more and more, and the more basic phones continually undersell other models with a lot more for only a little more. They have Caller ID, integrated answering machines, phone book storage, etc. These features may seem like nothing now, but remember paying a lot more for these features? That's my point. Cell Phones are starting to have more and more features, standard. This phone is a small example.

Remember the old phones of yore that were a phone and that's all, no speaker-phone, no caller id, no color, no flip, no anything other than an LCD screen attached to a battery and a radio (amps CDMA)? Well this shows the standard features making their way into the basic phones. This phone would be considered mid-high end about 5 years ago.
Soon enough, all phones will have a camera, external color screen, bluetooth (or other form of short range communication), blah, blah, blah. Get used to it, technology is ADVANCING, if you don't want to follow the crowd, then stock up on a few of these phones, because soon enough, you won't have the choice to get anything else.
