Stateside confirmed.

According to Samsung the phone is definitly coming stateside. The phone will also definitly have the 850MHz band. When I pressed Samsung about carrier availibility, they said both US GSM carriers will be using 850 MHz in future phones especially so T Mobile could roam off of Cingular. (and other rural carriers) They said while Cingular has not yet signed any exclusive agreement ala the Razr, the phone is definitly going to be a Cingular product.

This phone is already being sold, and is 900/1800/1900. Dunno how it could be released by Cingular.

Certainly there could be an "SGH-E737" version that has the 850 band. Most of Samsung's U.S. phones are nearly identical to a European model, with essentially only the frequency bands and model number changed.

That is indeed the case Rich. Samsung actually did refer to it as the E737. It's no secret that they use the final number to identify carrier. So it was good to hear the "7" and know it means Cingular. Hopefully they will indeed meet an August launch and the phone will pass Cingulars very stringant testing. Unlike the widely hyped V635 :/

I guarantee this phone will not be released for Cingular or any US carrier in august(already past) or anytime soon, if it does it will not be the Noir black soft feel "rubber feel", it will most likely be the silver or glossy black which sux
