Well, I've been doing some research, and it's led me to this phone. Currently I have the Samsung e315. I've been dying to have a phone with these features:
-Speakerphone
-Mp3 ring tones

Other things I would like are
-Megapixel camera
-Lots of memory
-Flashlight
-Easy to upload pics and ringtones to the phone from the computer.

For those of you with experience of this phone. I have some questions:

-Can you use the speakerphone with the phone closed?

-Is the flashlight bright enough at night?

-How is the menu configuration compared to the e315 and similar phones?

-Can the menu be put into page, bar, and grid styles?

I know there is no perfect phone. But from what I've read, this one is pretty close in my opinion....

hey thanks for the links. They helped alot. Sorry, I should have searched more. Especially in the howardforums. But I used google. lol. anywayz, I wanted to ask you a few more questions.

- Can you use the LED flash as a flashlight like the e715?

- I read that the exterior screen is 65k colors. I thought the specs said OLED? So if I were to take a pic with the phone closed, would the screen be like the e715 (OLED) or the e315 (65k LCD)?

- Is the user interface easy to use and user friendly?

- Is the speakerphone louder than the e335 (my v600 sounded louder than that)? can you use it with the phone closed?

- And how smooth are the phone's animations. Like when you play games, or have animated pictures. Are they slow ...

Answer:
Q) Can you use the LED flash as a flashlight like the e715?

No, I noticed that the E730 doesn't allow you to use the flashlight like the E715.

Q) I read that the exterior screen is 65k colors. I thought the specs said OLED? So if I were to take a pic with the phone closed, would the screen be like the e715 (OLED) or the e315 (65k LCD)?

Yes, the exterior screen is 65K color, and its like the E715 outer screen, except is has the 65K colors. The E715 has a monochrome OLED, meaning it doesn't have the many colors like the E730. I haven't seen the colors on the E315 outer screen.

Q) Is the user interface easy to use and user friendly?

Yes, the user interface is VERY user friendly, and easy to use.

Q) Is the speakerphon...

Thanks for the info man. From the sounds of it, I think I'm gonna get it as soon as I have enough money on the side. lol. That sucks about the LED flash. A small flashlight would be very good to have. On the other hand, I have just a few more questions to ask... (sorry) 😁

- How bad does the phone lag? My e315 takes up to 5 seconds or more somtimes to react after I pressed the button. Sometimes, I dial the number and call, and it takes a second or two after I dialed the number to dial it and then call.

- Does the pictures you send to your phone from the computer keep their resolution? My e315 makes them smaller, even though I make it to the exact size of the viewable screen.

- Does the phone have a service light?

lol, I'...

I haven't noticed any phone lag. To me, it responds at the push of a button.

I haven't really sent any pics to my PC, since I don't have a bluetooth dongle to send them easily.

Q) Does the phone have a service light?

Nope. It doesn't have the service light like my old E715.

I didn't like the V635 at all. You couldn'...

i agree with you on the edge and expandable memory. just add the flashlight feature and a 2.0 megapixel cam. 🙂

As for the pics, I meant, sending pictures from the computer to the phone. by email actually. I would do that first since I don't have bluetooth on my computer. but I'm guessing bluetooth would eliminate that problem with the emailing pics. I think one time i sent a pic bigger than 128x128 pixels to my c225, and it resized it to 128,128. either that, or it left the picture the exact size. But my e315 doesn't do that. it resizes to a smaller, unwanted size.

Anyways, i'm guessing the 1.0 megapixel camera is good enough, at least for a cell phone.

and the last thing (i hope), can we use the r225,c225,e105,e715,e315...

I want to use my E715's charger, but I am scared to use it since, it might blow or damage my phone since they use different power levels. When I first got the E730 I read the power levels, and they are different, so I am not going to even try to plug it in. I am not trying to break my new phone.

I was wondering... how is the wap browswer on the phone? My e315 can't handle too much of it, while my v600 can handle fairly a lot. For example, i can search for images on google on the v600, or go to howardforums. On my e315, I can't go on the forums...

Can the e730 handle big wap sites?

I think it can, since its a class 10 GPRS device. I could be wrong though, so I don't want to give you the wrong info about how much the phone's WAP browser can handle.
