Don't buy the cable. At least not from that seller!! The cables are tricky with the chip set that is embedded in the plug. A non-Nokia knock-off won't have the orig mfg chip! That will be a big problem!!!! Buy the cable from Nokia for $50. The cheap-o knock-off cables might and/or night not work! Many posts about this problem here and on other forums.

The IR route is pretty straight forward. It should work just fine. The Nokia PC Suite software will be able to rec' either connection method.

Wish I could tell you. Some people have purchased Ebay (type) cables and they worked w/o a hitch! BUT many people have gone that route and were ripped off.

Believe me, if I could get a cable that I knew for sure would work for $7 - $8 vs $50, I'd be the first guy in line!!

I bought this cable but can not get the phone to connect? I tried 2 different phones so I'm pretty sure it is not the phone.

I tried two cables from eBay and only the second one worked and that was only 1 time (how they sucker you is that you pay 99 cents for a cable but 8.99 for shipping which they won't refund so you're out ~10.00)... I'd skip the cheap cables or go IR if I am going to try again
