Free at letstalk.com
i know it's through a 3rd party, but this phone is FREE after instant rebates at letstalk.com when you sign up for a t-mobile plan of $39 or more/month.
also, the 6682 is only $99 through cingular!
my gf got her motorola phone for cingular through them and it was all good.

what is the disadvantage of purchasing a phone/service plan through a third party like amazon or letstalk?
i suppose it might be more difficult to return the phone if you don't like it, but saving $150 when activating a new plan seems like it'd be worth it.
btw, i've been taking a long look at this phone for lack of a better option in t-mobile's lineup. i had also been considering the samsung e335 and the 365.

hey Bluefin - In the past two weeks alone, I've had the 335 and the 635. I returned the 335 after one day and then tried the 635, whici I just returned today. Now I am waiting for the 6101 and I just hope I like it when I get it. I don't know what you're looking for in a phone but I wasn't happy with either Samsung's I tried (I wrote a review on the 635 if you go to that page). I don't need the fanciest phone - but those two seemed way too basic for me (I have the Motorola v300 now and am looking to upgrade).
Just my opinion, though. I know everyone has different preferences.

i'm not looking for a fancy phone at all. my current phone is a sanyo 8100 (i'm on sprint for now), and i really like it. i'm just looking for a comparable phone for when i switch to t-mobile. reception, battery life, and menu options/speed are important to me.

Your information about the phone being available at letstalk was very helpful. I went to letstalk to order the phone and t-mobile service but the phone is not in stock. I am reluctant to place an order since I have no idea how long it may take for them to have a phone available for shipment. I noticed it is available on some other web sites but the cost is the same as at t-mobile. Do you know of any other discounted websites?
thanks.
