hey - i have the same problem ..... and i've only had my phone for about 5 days! while trying to free up some memobry - i tried to erase those darn pre-loaded songs from the mp3 player & accidently erased the mp3 player from the phone! i have called both t-mobile and motorola - nothing! motorola states they do not have a program in place to re-load the mp3 software into the phone yet! t-mobile is replacing the phone, but of course - i have to pay the shipping! 😡

let me know if you find a solution....

To help recover this some one should post transfer there mp3 java amp to trans and hook there computor up to the phone and post the mp3 player to help the unfortunate! PLEASE DO SO!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't do anything else on the phone while you use the digital player, it's just like a game, and you can't fast-forward or rewind, but using the sounds menu, you can close the phone and slip it in your pocket like an actual MP3 player.

I agree with what JoshuaX said. You don't need the Java Audio player, just use the built in player (under Fun & Apps, Sounds, then create a play list). You can do more with it anyway. The built in Player allows you to do other things on the phone while the music is playing (change settings, view your phone-book, datebook etc...). The Java Player takes over the phone and you cannot do anything else while it is launched. Your better off with the deleted Java app and the free space to be honest.
