In a recent meeting with the big three, Motorola stated that the 361 will be released to Cingular later in the year. I wonder if this will be the same phone only in the 850.

Probably, but that might not be until next year. T-Mobile will have it first.

The only version for the US, will have 850MHz on it, instead of the overseas 900MHz. This is due to the fact that T-Mobile is signing more and more roaming agreements with other carriers that use the 850MHz band, so most of T-Mobile's phone from now on will either be 850/1800/1900MHz or Quad-band which has all 4 GSM bands on it. But, when it comes out for Cingular it will also be 850MHz.

it doesn't need to roam because isn't t-mobile a pcs carrier on 1900 band it doesn't matter if it has 850mhz band or not.

I mean roaming cause if the person goes into an area where T-Mobile has a roaming agreement with an 850MHz carrier, the phone will be able to roam since the phone has the 850MHz band. Same with a 1900MHz carrier. If T-Mobile has an agreement with them, then the customer will be able to roam onto that customer. If there is no agreement available, then you can't roam onto the other carriers network.
